When Willow was Highly Commended in the IP Picks competition I cried. I cried because Willow is real. It’s really her name and I really do adore her. I cried because now everyone will get to know her and I’m sure you’ll love her as much as I do.
One in four Australians knows somebody who has suffered from an eating disorder and this book was written as much for those people as the sufferers themselves. When writing about Willow’s illness it would have been very easy to write a dark and EMO book...but pfft...like that hasn’t been done before right? Instead I wrote a book I hope will give everyone (friends, family and sufferers) something to think and smile about. Who knows, you may even get a giggle!
